Generalissimo Chiang Kai-Shek commands the National Revolutionary Army to focus on defending territory currently controlled by the Republic of China and to postpone plans for a counterattack against the Japanese. The warlords will have to be largely left alone for now, as internal conflicts between the Kuomintang and other factions within the country must be put on hold due to the dire state of the war effort. Chiang reluctantly requests additional support from the Soviet Union as well as reaching out to President Roosevelt for possible assistance from the United States.
