I missed one other flip due to boundary shifts. Adding the Woodbine mobile park to Waverley-Fall River-Beaver Bank (from Tory-held Sackville-Beaver Ban) has made the riding a notional Tory seat (went Liberal in reality).

On another topic, would it be safe to assume the following ridings are potential NDP targets?

Halifax Armdale (used to be Alexa's old riding)
Sackville-Cobequid  (traditional NDP seat, lost in a recent by-election)
Glace Bay-Dominion (former CBRM mayor running)
Sydney-Membertou (fairly close last time, though boundary shifts make it harder to pick up)

Maybe the riding boundaries have shifted, but Alexa McDonough's riding was Halifax-Chebucto.

She represented Chebucto originally (made of the northern parts of both current Chebucto and Armdale), but after 1993 redistribution, she represented Fairview (made of most of current Armdale and the Fairview part of current Fairview-Clayton Park).

Debate will be July 28, 6:00-7:30 Atlantic time.
Which parties are represented and by whom ?

Pretty standard. Liberal, Tory, NDP all represented by their leaders. The other parties have no seats and won't come close to running a full slate of candidates, so there's none of the drama around debates that you sometimes see at the federal level.
The Green party wasn't able to run a full slate ?

So far, 22 Greens filled paperwork, even through their website lists 40 candidates (they have until 5PM tomorrow to fill). That's still short of 55.

The only other registered party is the Atlantica Party, their only filled and announced candidate is their leader.

Surprisingly, Liberals are still missing 2 candidates and PC 1.

According to the Wiki Nova Scotia Election site, the Greens have 43 candidates, including 42 candidates in 47 ridings not including Cape Breton.

The Green website has 41 candidates, which means there is 2 candidates on Wiki not listed on Green website (Hammond Plains - Lucasville and Eastern Shore).

What ridings are the Liberals and PCs missing? Did the Liberals not manage to replace the woman from Dartmouth?

Liberals: Cumberland South and Dartmouth South (the riding you mentioned).
PCs: Cumberland North (the Independent Elizabeth Smith-McCrossin's riding)

The Greens candidates are very uneven. Virtually a full slate in Halifax itself and the South Shore and Annapolis Valley areas, but only one candidate on Cape Breton Island.

For Cumberland South, there is nothing on Wikipedia or the PC website, but Elections Nova Scotia is saying they filled a candidate, David Wightman.

On Elections NS website, we also have 6 Atlantica candidates filled now (55 PC, 53 NDP (missing Clare and Inverness), 52 Liberals (the candidate in Halifax Armdale didn't file yet), 33 Greens and 4 independent also filled). They have until 2PM tomorrow to fill.

No need to fear, the Liberals have a full slate now with Rollie Lawless running in Cumberland South, and Les Mackay running in Dartmouth South.

And we finished with 42 Greens, 17 for Altantica and 6 Independents.

And the Liberals seems very obsessed with the population of the province hitting 1 million.

Smith-McCrossin appears to be running away with Cumberland North now. She's up 57%-27% with 11/38 polls reporting.

Really strange to see PC gains all across the province, except in this riding where the PC incumbent (!) is currently in 4th place behind even the NDP!

The incumbent is the Independent (elected as PC).

Cole Harbour is also a 3-way race, with 14/28 counted, Liberals are leading NDP by 5, with PC 1 vote one behind NDP.

Yet another tight 3-way race, this time in Dartmouth East.

Question about the lack of fixed election dates in NS...couldn't a premier in theory just never call an election to hold on to power?

No, section 4(1) of Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms says

No House of Commons and no legislative assembly shall continue for longer than five years from the date fixed for the return of the writs at a general election of its members

There was a similar clause in the Constitution for Quebec and Ontario, one stating the Constitutions of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick continued to apply in regards to their Legislatures (which included stipulations about maximum term lenghts) and sections in laws creating the other provinces before 1982.

I was walking around downtown last night with a friend, and noticed the results on someone's TV through a window. The NDP were on 10 seats, so I rushed home to follow the results. What a let down!

Burrill should probably be tossed. Basically status quo, but down 2 seats (let's be honest, they're not going to win the seat they're leading in) from the last election. I suspect he hangs on though. I'm happy they at least hung on to one Cape Breton seat. Too bad Morgan couldn't win Glace Bay.

You are wrong, but I don't think anybody would have guessed Halifax Citadel if told the NDP would only gain 1 seat.

33 votes. 246 was the margin between 1st and 3rd.
