Prigozhin, were he to win, would have to decapitate the Russian state to rule safely. At minimum he'd need to remove most of the upper leadership of the army who he has been publicly feuding with for months. He'd probably also need to remove some or all of the Putin loyalist regional governors (see Kadyrov) and bureaucratic/political leadership loyal to Putin exclusively. Any regime he would try to establish would have less international and domestic legitimacy than the one Putin has built through democratic veneer, decades of leadership, and some degree of legitimate popularity. That can all only be good for Ukraine and for the West. Even if Prigozhin is a worse person than Putin is I'd still root for him for that reason.

Neither. Both are literal war criminals.

Prigozhin is a bad guy, but I think he would at least end the war in Ukraine, so for pragmatic reasons I hope he gets it done.

Lol, Atlas just eats up propaganda.

You were all cheering when countries designated the Wagner Group as a terrorist organization, and now you want their leader in charge of the largest nuclear arsenal in the world?

This feels like if Blackwater and Halliburton and Northrop Grumman and the other private contractors and conglomerates decided to overthrow Bush after "Mission Accomplished" didn't happen.

The best case scenario is if Putin has to withdraw from Ukraine to defeat the Wagner Group

My hope was that they would fight and substantially deplete each other’s forces, diverting men and arms away from the war effort. Probably best that Putin “wins” in the end though, Wagner group are a bunch of war criminals.

This would inevitably lead to Putin's end though, because the war would be lost. In a country like Russia you're not just withdrawing and return to business as usual. Putin would look extremely weak (he already does) and weakness is pretty much a death sentence for Russian leaders.
