If New York City didn't have term limits for the mayor or at least DeBlasio could run for third term like Bloomberg at the time, how do you see a Adams vs. DeBlasio head-to-head primary going? DeBlasio obviously isn't the most popular mayor and Adams would actually have been a serious challenge.

It would be been close in my opinion. Gun to my head, I would predict a narrow victory for Adams as his message on crime seems to have resonated, especially among black voters.

Wouldn't any election involving De Blasio feature his delayed COVID response as an albatross? That alone makes me lean Adams.
