It's just one poll, but Trump just 47% leads me to the question whether DeSantis could actually beat Trump in a primary or whether he's just a paper tiger?

If anyone’s gonna beat Trump in a primary, it won’t be the guy whose whole brand is Trump 2.

At least double Trump's numbers and this poll is probably accurate.

What an odd poll. I don't know how much stock to put in it, but at least it's interesting. There is a lot to take note of but the highlight to me is that this is actually a really good poll for Pence. You know it's good because he manages to make Nikki Haley look more pathetic than him.

Also, eat s*** Rick Scott. Nobody likes you. It's about time you don't get 1% in something. As for the other Scott, clearly it takes more than to be the black best friend for Republicans to want to support you anymore.

Hogan at 1% is also pretty good for him.

At least double Trump's numbers and this poll is probably accurate.

This reminds me of what I consider the misguided logic that Tender Branson used to bring to the 2024 GOP primary polls….it went something like:

1) Trump has a very high favorability rating among Republicans, and yet 2) Trump is so obviously a terrible person and terrible president, and therefore 3) all of those people who give him a positive favorability rating must be part of a cult that’s specific to Trump, and they would never prefer some other Republican over Trump.  And so 4) any poll that has Trump at less than 90% support among Republicans for 2024 must be wrong.

But that’s absurd.  In no way do 1 and 2 imply 3.  Many Republican voters like Trump, and dismiss his flaws because he’s on their side in the culture war, and they like him because of either particular cultural grievances or particular issues, or just because he has an (R) next to his name.  But that doesn’t mean that 100% of them will always prefer him over some other Republican, who’s also on their side in the culture war, and with them on the issues, etc.
