Let's say that at the Oscars, a high profile actress who's accepting an academy award on stage turns and grabs the male host's sausage and meatballs point blank without his concent.

Would she face any consequences for this, or would nobody care and everyone just laugh?

Not really, no one would care and many would find it funny. At worst you'd get a few timidly worded think pieces about it, nothing like how people would react to a man engaging in identical behavior these days.

They generally aren’t taken seriously due to a variety of cultural factors, but witnessing a groping on live national television is a completely different matter.
