Quote
Former President Donald Trump, who has complained about censorship by social media giants, plans to announce class action lawsuits today against Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, sources tell Axios.

Why it matters: It's the latest escalation in Trump's yearslong battle with Twitter and Facebook over free speech and censorship. Trump is completely banned from Twitter and is banned from Facebook for another two years.

If it goes to SCOTUS, do Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Coney Barrett recuse?

I sincerely doubt SCOTUS would be very likely to pick up such a case, tbh.

Trump found another lawyer who does not mind if their legal fees are not being paid?

No. They have no integrity.

But I'm surprised Trump is suing Facebook. Zuckerberg is unbanning him in 2023 so he can run for President.

Here's the real reason Trump launched this suit (which has zero chance of succeeding):

This is as nonsensical as Trump's post-election lawsuits so yeah, it's going nowhere.

Let me guess ... Rudy Giuliani will be representing him, with wild and crazy BS accusations.
This will go well. LOL.

Awesome! This means that Big Tech lawyers will be able to subject Trump to a multi-day deposition about everything related to the case.

That would be great, but I expect it will be dismissed before it even gets to discovery.

I would love to say I can't wait to see the rule 11 sanctions Trump and his lawyers get for filing this and having to pay is Zuckerberg and dorsey's legal bills. However, given that to my knowledge by tonight and please correct me if I'm wrong - - his equally Ludacris election lawsuits ( except the one minor one he won in Pennsylvania) didn't result in such sanctions even though had ordinary attorneys filed such frivolous matters in any Court around here the judge will be ordering Council to open up their checkbook within weeks.

I don't think such a lawsuit would be frivolous. In fact, if framed right, it could raise significant and difficult legal issues, particularly if the economies of scale for social media platforms are so huge, that in practice they become uncomfortably close to fulfilling the role  of common carriers.   The information age is a most fertile soil for the nurturing of huge concentrations of economic power.

I believe there's a court appearance coming up relatively soon in Michigan(?) where a judge has ordered Sideny Powell and every other lawyer who signed Trump's lawsuits in the state to personally appear for a sanctions hearing.

But I thought his Authoritarian blog was so much better because he didn't have a limited number of characters?

This guy is merely a parody of himself.

You mean the blog that died in like 30 days?

LOL

Also, not like he’s capable of forming thoughts much longer than 240 characters anyway.

I'm old enough to remember when Donnie Dumb**** argued in court that,
