Considering this is probably the most right leaning demographic why can’t the GOP break 70% of the white male vote?

In a way could you argue they are underperforming with white males?

"white male" is a hugely broad term.

Why would we expect a white male from Madison, WI with a doctorate in chemistry to be politically similar to a white male laborer in Arkansas?

I would say though that the GOP is underperforming with suburban white men right now.

In short, the college divide. The 30% of white men who went to college and acculturated themselves to liberal norms are separated out inherently from the rest of their demographic.

Less than half of college educated white men vote Democrat.

That maybe true, but there is still a large divide in voting habits between college educated whites males and white males who didn't go to college.  If the GOP is going to break 65-70% of white males, they need to do better among college educated white males.

White is too much of a broad term

According to the census, I am white. But I am an Arab/Middle Eastern

Granted we are still a small portion of the population

But maybe Republicans get close to 65-70% with male WASP votes?

Consider the fact that this arbitrary goal you've set out for the GOP to meet among white men is met nationally only with white men without college degrees. That's the white male portion of the demographic that the GOP most heavily idpol panders to, and it's just managing to meet your criteria, not significantly rising above it. Then consider the fact that white males with college degrees split much more evenly, now only breaking towards Republicans by single digit margins nationwide.

Either Republicans would need to dramatically improve their performance among white men with college degrees, or would need to start getting Kim Jong Un level margins among those without.

It's interesting.  The ceiling on white/Latino polarization seem to have been reached much sooner than most of us, including me, expected.
