Gonna assume that means I'm clear for advocacy.

Well. We've all been familiar with the unfortunate uptick in hate crimes against the Asian-Atlasian community, fueled by tensions with China and the COVID-19 pandemic. It's important that this government condemn anti-Asian hate crimes, and more broadly, xenophobia in all shapes and forms - hence, this bill. This bill is an important step towards that goal - it is imperative to actively work to aid local governments in reducing anti-Asian hate crimes and ensuring those responsible are held accountable. I urge the members of this august body to vote for this bill, and stand in solidarity with the Asian-Atlasian community.
