Well Dems would sweep many rust belt states since Clinton/Bayh is a good ticket for the region. Giuliani/Snowe would outperform McCain in the northeast, bringing it within 5-10 in Maine and winning NH. CT and DE would probably be pretty close as well.

VA and CO could be okay as well.

The issue is that they could outperform in northeast by ten points and still lose.

If the recession happens as in OTL, definitely Clinton/Bayh unless Hillary really messes up. I know Giuliani/Snowe is the strongest on The Campaign Trail, but I think a lot of conservatives would stay home on Election Day. It might still be the strongest ticket though.

I know you got this matchup idea from that 2008 mod of The New Campaign Trail.

Anyway, Under most normal circumstances the Clinton/Bayh ticket would be favored.
