In celebration of the earliest Easter Sunday since 2008 (March 23), a new city was founded and 5,000 liberals moved in.

Scenario 1: Something has gone very wrong economically.  Living standards are lower than today throughout the US and severely so in rural areas.  Early 20th century class-based politics has returned with Dems representing the impoverished

Scenario 2: Following a series of momentous technological advances, the Institute for Coal-Based Nanocomputing, modeled after Los Alamos National Laboratories, has now become the largest employer in Elliott County.

It would have to be something big that attracts a lot of liberals, or Kentucky just naturally had a coalition change again.

Political coalitions are entirely different and unrecognizable from our POV.
