If you consider western = developed, the answer is no

Argentina is arguably the third-most developed country in the Americas, only after the U.S./Canada

I would argue Chile is.

What about Uruguay?

43   Steady    Chile   0.851
46   Decrease (2)    Argentina   0.845
55   Increase (1)    Uruguay   0.817

More or less where Peurto Rico is.

If we consider Argentina a western country (I think it is), the Malvinas War was the last war in which a western country fought against other one

I could have asked "Does Latin America belong to the western world?", but I decided to choose only one country, the one that has higher share of European ancrestry (they came from the boats). Some would consider that countries that had majority of indigenous population (Bolivia) or african population (Haiti) not western.

Yeah, “western” is often somewhat of a code for “white”.

Unless you're using "Western" as a codeword for "rich," there's no argument that excludes all of Latin America and the Caribbean from the West.

If you are using, Western as a codeword for "rich," welcome to the West, Japan and South Korea!
