I had to double check this post in case it was a prank. And it still feels like one, even after the fact becomes clear.


O7 to a true legend. One of the most fascinating figures in politics (and tech). A movie about this man might be something from Hollywood I'd legitimately pay to watch.

I... kind of want to play the "watch and see" game for how this story develops. Hopefully an autopsy is along the way.

I think it's fairly obvious that John McAfee tried to make his suicide look like a murder which was made look like a suicide. The ultimate Batman Gambit, so to speak. I mean he was an "eccentric" 75-year-old Libertarian who was looking at the prospect of a 30-year prison sentence. He had nothing to lose anymore and maybe he decided to end his life and blame it on the U.S. government as his final "f**k you".

That’s kinda my thought too. His post saying he wouldn’t kill himself was over 8 months ago. A lot can change in someone’s mind in 8 months.
