2nd Lincoln General Court Opening - Election of a Speaker

This being the day set by the third Lincoln Constitution for the convening of the Lincoln General Court, and myself being the Dean of the Lincoln Legislative Body, I declare the Lincoln General Court will come to order! (bangs gavel)

All deputies are reminded of the need to swear in in the appropriate thread. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of office.

Pursuant to the SOAP, the first order of business is to elect a Speaker.

I will now accept nominations for the office of Speaker. Deputies shall have 24 hours to make such nominations. After that, we will vote between the nominated candidates.

The Nomination period has closed and it is time to vote. I will follow the precedent established by past Atlasian Deans in that I will allow Deputies to rank candidates to avoid having to take multiple votes.

The result is a tie.

There was some suggestion of using condorcet method on the discord, I regret to inform the court that that also results in a tie, as does simple FPTP.

The governor shall be contacted to break the tie.
