Big fat F.  Not knowing that several Dem incumbents were in trouble (Cox, Cisneros, DMP, Shalala, etc) was inexcusable.

D-. I think the F would've been earned if Democrats had actually lost the House, but yeah, she was awful.

You don't believe in waves, we can certainly hold onto the H, it's not over yet, 🌊🌊🌊 blue wave in 500 days..states don't vote the same way in Prez and in Govs we can certainly lose MI, or Cali recall or PA Gov and win FL, KS, OH and AZ on the back of BLUE DOGS🐶🐶🐶

Biden has a 55% Approvals and Rs haven't lead on Generic ballot, ITS NOT OVER TIL ITS OVER😄😄😄

I'll go easy on her and give her a D. I mean, it's not like she knew exactly what was going to happen. And at the very least she still held onto the house.

That being said, she focused too much on trying to expand the majority into unwinnable territory rather than defending her most vulnerable members. I mean, retaining Horn, Torres Small, etc. was always going to be a tough fight, but Shalala, Cisneros, Rouda had no excuse to lose.

F. With everything happening in the country, 2020 should've been a gargantuan landslide of Biblical proportions. Instead the Democrats LOST House seats, and a lot of them.

C. The factors that led to Ds losing lots of House seats were mostly entirely out of her control.

I guess I have a hard time understanding why 2020 is being deemed a massive indictment of the DCCC's strategy when they only won two fewer districts than Biden and the six closest House races were all Democratic losses (i.e. a ~1% shift to the left would've made a massive difference). Yeah, some of the losses in Biden districts (namely the four CA flips) probably could've been avoided if resources were allocated better. But, generally speaking, I think that we attribute too much importance to the role of the DCCC/NRCC chair. Considering that Biden only ran a tad ahead of the House Democrats, it seems to me like there was a general Democratic baseline that year and House Democrats more or less met it overall.

I mean, she clearly didn't exceed expectations, so I don't think particularly highly of her tenure, nor will I miss her in this position. But I think that she probably bears little personal responsibility for the somewhat disappointing outcome.

I don't know if she can be blamed for the house losses but I would say C or D.

She would get an F if the democrats lost the majority.

I'm of the opinion that she thought she was in safe in that role and just used it as a springboard, whereas Cardenas had a lot more ideas. Based on her performance however, D.

She gets a D because Dems held the House, but boy howdy some mistakes were made. There are of course factors outside of her control, and it's not her fault that Democratic internal polling was off, giving her a warped state of play to make decisions around. What is inarguable though, is that House Dems left votes on the table. President Biden outperformed House D's by several points almost uniformly. There were persuadable voters out there who our message didn't convince.

It's kind of incredible how quickly her star faded. She used to be amped up as a potential future House leader before the 2020 elections, and if that didn't pan out, she was assumed to be the favorite for succeeding Durbin in the Senate once he retired. Now her paths have been shut off and she's leaving Congress.
