Platform:
Agriculture: Senator Brown supports legislation that protects small family farms and restricts the power of commercial agriculture. He also supports bills that would allow farmers to sell excess produce to the government, which will be used to feed students and the homeless. During his time on the U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee, Senator Brown has continually fought for the interests of American farmers.

Economy: Senator Brown supports the Biden Administration's American Jobs Plan, which will revitalize the nation's infrastructure and create millions of jobs in emerging fields. If elected President, Sherrod will support legislation that supports small businesses. He will push to end right-to-work laws and raising the minimum wage to $15 per hour by 2031. He also supports a repeal of state laws that ban municipalities from raising the minimum wage higher than the state wage.

Education: Senator Brown supports more investment in our nation's schools, as education is the key to success. He will fight to make shady for-profit charter schools and colleges accountable, which will save money. Sherrod supports up to $15,000 in student debt cancellation, along with freezing interest and increasing public service loan forgiveness programs.

Energy: Senator Brown supports clean energy projects that will create high-paying jobs for Americans. Power generated by sources like Ethanol, Solar, and Geothermal are good for the environment and will be expanded if Sherrod is elected. He will also support job training sites and agencies in rural areas affected by the decline of coal and oil.

Financial Services: Senator Brown supports tighter regulations for banking institutions to protect the savings and investments of middle-class and working-class Americans. Sherrod will also work to

Health Care: Senator Brown supports expanding Medicare by introducing a buy-in at age 55, along with expanding CHIP to fully cover all uninsured or underinsured children, with an eventual move to single-payer by 2035. Sherrod also supports a public option to help lower costs, along with revoking patents for insulin and other medications.

Manufacturing: Senator Brown will fight will all his power to protect American manufacturing and American workers, whether it means introducing legislation to protect unions or banning unfair labor practices, America's workers can know that Sherrod Brown has their back.

Trade: Senator Brown supports a brand-new trade policy that puts America's workers ahead of numbers on a stockbroker's screen. Sherrod believes that American workers can compete with anyone, and he will work to expand the 'made in America' label all around the world.

Debate answer (specific): "Lester, this is simply untrue. I am running because I believe that I bring new ideas that benefit Americans more than my competitors. There is a reason that I won my last election by seven points while Trump won by eight points in both 2016 and 2020- It's because working Americans see me as someone who can represent their interests and puts those interests ahead of politics."

Despite a vast popular vote victory in 2020, Joe Biden was only able to win the presidency based on a few thousand votes from swing states. Do you believe it is time for the electoral college to be phased out?

"No, rather I support a proportional system where candidates win the number of electoral votes closest to the percentage by which they won. So if candidate A wins 51% of the vote, he or she gets 51% of the electoral votes rather than 100% like we have now.

The Senate filibuster remains intact and is considered one of the reasons President Biden wasn't able to get as much as he'd like done before the midterms. Should the filibuster be abolished?

"Yes. The filibuster is a remnant of a time where both parties wanted what was best for America, albeit having different ways of achieving it. The Republicans have shown that they do not, so we should get rid of it.

Regardless of who it may be, do you pledge to support the eventual nominee?

"Yes. Unconditionally."

AFL-CIO Endorses Sherrod Brown!

Earlier today, the AFL-CIO announced that it will be endorsing Sherrod Brown for President. According to the organization's CEO, Richard Trumka, Brown has been an advocate for labor and worker's rights during his time in politics, and has the best feel for working class concerns out of all the candidates.
