Had they won in 2018, how would Gillum, Abrams, Hubbell, Sutton, and Cordray be doing in 2022?

Would depend on their popularity. Gubernatorial races, especially with incumbents, tend to be much less influenced by the national environment.

Given the way that Georgia has trended, and assuming that the Democratic electoral successes of 2020-2021 had still occurred there, I think Abrams would probably be a slight favorite. Her race would be Tossup/Lean D. And given what has come out since the election, I suspect Gillum's approvals would be poor and he would be disadvantaged by the Republican-leaning environment. Florida would probably be Lean R. Cordray would probably be an underdog (Lean R), as would Hubbell (Lean R) and Sutton (Lean R), although I could conceivably see Sutton enjoying relatively high approvals, certainly higher than those of Noem, and potentially being in a Tossup race for reelection.

The state of Gillum's mental health would presumably be a lot better than it was following his real-life loss, but in the event that meth were to still somehow enter the picture, Gov. Chris King would've been much better than DeSantis on COVID.

Abrams: Tilt/Lean D
Gillum: Lean R
Cordray: Lean R
Hubbell: Lean/Likely R
Sutton: Likely R

Interestingly enough, all of these states have senate races in 2022, so I could see the partisan lean of each overcoming individual governor's performance/favorability

Abrams: Lean D
Gillum: Tossup/Tilt R
Cordray: Lean R
Hubbell: Lean R
Sutton: Likely/Safe R (fight me, it's still South Dakota)
