Maybe a bit generous for the GOP but I do believe that this is where we might be headed if trends go the way I think they will in the 2020's.

The same result as 2020?
Imagining that nothing will changes for the next 12 years feels a bit lazy.

Have there even been two elections with the same outcome in the history of the US?

There are some differences. I give Idaho a 5th vote.

Mostly agreed but I have a hard time seeing the GOP hold onto TX until 2032 and the Dems holding onto Wisconsin for that long

Being totally shut down in both the rust belt and sun belt will be the thing that makes one of the parties drastically change course.

He's just using the 2020 map with possible future allocation changes, the state results themselves being irrelevant for this thread. This makes sense given the population trends we've seen decade over decade.

Suggested topic thread title:

Allocation of Electoral Votes in 2032

You can throw a word like Potential in just before the word Allocation. (Or perhaps there is another word you may like.)

If we’re talking about allocation, most of it is plausible, but I don’t see WV going all the way down to 3. Mississippi might lose one instead, and Virginia could gain one.

How much population does California have to add to get to 55 electoral votes again? Or even 56?

If you are predicting this far out just based on trends then I'd give the GOP Wisconsin and Michigan and the Dems Texas and North Carolina.

Pennsylvania probably continues to be a tossup but with a slight Dem edge.  So a strong GOP candidate could probably win it, but they'd have to be charismatic like Trump.
