I wish most of southwest Virginia would do this for similar reasons.  I'd encourage my elected officials to let them leave.

Well just like Malheur in Oregon, those counties house a ridiculous number of state prisoners (again, continuing the tradition of states putting prisoners in the most downtrodden and isolated parts of their states) so, they'd lose a big chunks of jobs and a surprising amount of their population.

I was in Klamath County over the weekend and I saw one Greater Idaho sign, which is the same as the number of State of Jefferson signs I saw. (There were many more State of Jefferson signs on the California side of the border.) What I find interesting here is that when combined with the demographics of emigrants from the West Coast to Idaho, this suggests that Idaho has become a promised land for right-wing westerners. It seems to me that Idaho Republicans have been encouraging this, but I wonder if that will come around to bite them eventually.
