He’s not wrong. It’s not the beginning no they have been doing that for years now.

Good to know you agree with that, then.

Then get your own party to come together.

Cave into Manchin with whatever he wants in order to abolish the filibuster.  If that doesn’t happen, then Dems don’t deserve to be the majority power in Congress.

They will be the Majority in the S the EC map favors them there, it will be 51/49 or 52/48, but the H is subject to flip but if the Economy improves by 2024/ they can win it back

We must hold the Senate so that Rs don't claim both Houses so they can object to certificate of Election of BIDEN in 2024

But Manchin is probably the first to go as a D since his stance on Filibuster in 2024, to whatever R gets Redistricted out in WVA and it's probably Mooney

If this doesn't convince anyone to nuke the filibuster, pretty nothing else could. It's shameful we have one political party in this country that is blatantly ignoring reality and lives in a world of fiction.

It's about time Dems are going full nuclear and not just repeal the filibuster, but start running ads linking GOP leadership to the insurrection. We need to get a lot smarter. What do you think how a vise versa scenario would have played out with BLM storming congress to prevent certification of a Trump win and Dems blocking a bipartisan investigation? McConnell and McCarthy wouldn't just say "ok, there's not much we can do...".

I know that's all frustrating and we'd like to see more stuff get done in bipartisan fashion, but anyone with half a brain has to realize we're not getting anywhere by playing it nice. As sad as it is.

What's coming is the abortion rights case, Crt is gonna confirm MS and whether or not it is natl is yet to be seen

In 1950s and before then, if you didn't want a child you gave it to a relative or adoption.

Many relatives are adopting, but it will help the Rs just like not having the Commission

Also Biden isn't going after Trump either for Obstructing Justice

The GOP is just begging the Dems to run a campaign like this. Truly the issue that drives people to the polls - something that doesn't affect the well-being of Americans in any way and an extremely dated news story . Anyone cares about this is already voting D and voting early.

Can somebody explain to me what the Jan. 6 commission that Democrats want to summon would do that the Dept. of Justice has not been doing?

I am beginning to think more and more that getting rid of the filibuster might be the way to go.
The Senate is really bad in the sense that a state like Wyoming gets as many Senators as California, but there is no easy way to fix this.

Getting rid of the filibuster could mean that a GOP majority could pass some really dreadful bills (when they also have the W House and House of Reps), but since the GOP has no problem with using the nuclear option when it suits them, it seems that there is a double standard.

The GOP's obstructionism is getting worse and worse and their opposition to investigating Trump's coup attempt is seditious in my opinion. I have little hope that the GOP's fall into the pit of cold darkness will end anytime soon. It's truly become a party of the worst kind of wingnuts.

We already know DC Statehood and HR 1 and Commission should be passed and abolish the Filibuster, Manchin and Sinema and Tester are confirming with one another that it would Destroy our D, but if Rs win next Nov, Biden won't get his agenda passed and Manchin and Tester are the most Vulnerable D's in 2024 Biden has a net double digits deficit Approvals in both states

But at least Tester and Sinema are open to Statehood if it's 51/49 or 52/48 and we keep the H, then we can still pass DC Statehood, but that's not guarenteed

You could have said the same thing about 9/11. It's a matter of consistency and principles. 9/11 was a terrorist attack on the country and so was 1/06. If the institution of Congress investigated the attack from 20 years ago, they should do the same for this one from mere months ago that directly assaulted them to cover all bases possible and prevent a future attack, and uncover if there was any internal subterfuge that aided and abetted the siege to boot.

https://www.newsweek.com/calls-mount-biden-form-presidential-1-6-commission-after-gops-cowardly-filibuster-1596136

Quote
"While McConnell and his GOP allies in the Senate may be able to stop the House bill from becoming law, that need not prevent a special commission investigation of the worst attack on the Capitol since the War of 1812 and the worst act of insurrection in the United States since the Civil War. Biden can and should create a blue-ribbon commission to investigate the attack," Cole wrote in the article published Friday.

This article suggests Biden can and should create a presidential commission to investigate January 6th, since Congress is a failed institution incapable of governing.

Sinema wants to keep the Filibuster and didn't attend the vote due to Memorial day Recess it was 54/38 as did 10 Rs missed the vote

That's how silly season is when you want to keep the Filibuster and then you miss the vote

Oh please. Had a Democratic president committed treason and fomented an insurrection, that's all we'd be hearing about from now until the subsequent election. Hell, I remember, post-9/11, when Republicans actually tried to posture as the party of "patriotism!" LOL. Inveterate slimebags, all of them. Your concern trolling is noted, and ignored.

Any attempt by the Republicans to do the same thing would fail spectacularly as well causing pretty significant losses. The only reason it might be slightly mitigated is because fear is the best tactic they have to get their voters to turn out whereas Democrats are boosted by commitment to specific issues.

Did you miss 2016 when virtually every commercial in favor Hillary Clinton was the winning issue of Trump mocking a disabled journalist? That really brought people in Milwaukee and Detroit out.

Joe Manchin is odd for a Democrat in WV. Most people think he is a #populist fighting for the little guy such as Sherrod Brown or Richard Ojeda. He is a corporatist pro coal moderate.

He doesn't like pork and it would it tough to win him over with extra spending for WV. Robert Byrd could easily be won over for a tough vote, he was the king of pork in WV.

Democrats overplayed their hand with Jan 6 and its pretty funny to watch the stages of grief/denial they’re now in.  The events of January 6 were pretty disturbing but opportunistic Democrats saw a once in a lifetime opportunity to make this their “9/11” and its now failing horribly.  Just stop lying - there was no coup, no insurrection - there were a bunch of morons with no plan who ran into an area they weren’t supposed to be in.  The crocodile tears have really worn thin nearly 6 months later.

You know who I really feel for?  No, its not Nancy Pelosi, because some dude sat in her chair and stole her laptop.  I feel bad for the unarmed woman who was shot dead by Capitol Police with no accountability.

They were literally chanting "Hang Mike Pence". Quite a few of them brought guns, knives and baseball bats. What do you think they would have done to Pence if they'd actually gotten their hands on him? Or Pelosi? Schumer? Romney? Kinzinger? AOC? Warren? Sanders? Schiff?

Sigh.. define “they” and get specific.  Im genuinely sorry that you’re lapping up lies about Jan 6 wholesale.  There were no guns, dude.  Please show me evidence of the weapons.  Not even the MSM is continuing to pretend that the rioters has guns.

PS - we’re talking here about the UNARMED woman that was shot.  Tell me, again, what she was armed with and what direct threat she presented - and be specific.  Talking about anyone else when you know damn well Im talking about one specific person who was killed is not good enough.

Why won't Schumer put the nuke option on the Floor for a vote, even if he doesn't have the votes it will be a clear indication that the D's mean business, him not having a vote is just a stalling tactic and the Rs know it that's why they blocked the Commission

They will block HR1, DC Statehood and weed legalization

Bill Frist in 2005,didn't stall on the nuke option on Judges, he said was gonna have the vote and the D's relented, he says let's come to the floor and meet about the Nuke option DeWine was a key player on the nuke option and they meant business

D's were gonna block Samuel Alito Justice to SCOTUS
