President Joe Biden announces he won't run again, and to everyone's shock Vice President Kamala Harris announces she'll sit this one out as well. In a twist nobody was expecting, a bout of geriatric deja vu takes the stage again as two veteran politicians think this third time might be the charm they need. Because of their star-studded power and mass appeal among different groups of Democrats, no other major contenders enter the race or their fundraising and polling numbers are so grim they drop out before Iowa. It's a rematch for the ages. Who gets your vote?

Bernie would get my vote and he would almost certainly win the primary.

Bernie! I supported him all throughout 2019 and early 2020, though in hindsight I’m glad Joe got the nomination because I’m not sure Bernie would have won the electoral college. Unless he excited voters in a way to change the calculus of the whole election like how Obama and Trump did in their respective electoral campaigns.

As much of a Clinton apologist as I am, it would have to be Sanders' turn for the sake of the party, no matter how old he is.

Thankfully, I don't think this hypothetical is anywhere close to possible. I really don't want to relive 2016.

Both would be incredibly weak candidates for 2024, but I would vote for Hillary.

I'd of course vote for Hillary after Bernie's tragic accident leaves him incapacitated, and I would wish him a speedy recovery to get back to his important work in the Senate.

Same. I supported Bernie in 2016 but was a few months too young to vote

I supported him in 2019 and 2020 but in hindsight I am glad Biden won the nomination. No one else could have untied the anti Trump vote from Sanders to Kasich

I'd honestly rather saw my own foot off and relive the 2016 primary again but with both of them 8 years older.

What a question. Obviously for the most qualified candidate in recent U.S. presidential history.

Yeah, let's put the one person that sucks enough at elections to lose to Trump up against Trump again.
