I don't know why it's so hard for people to believe that a significant percentage of Republicans would prefer someone new, younger, and perhaps most importantly someone who hasn't lost an election to run in 2024. It isn't even a rejection of his politics, necessarily. Not Trump doesn't mean they're writing in Liz Cheney.

We don't know yet whether people just ignore him LOSING THE ELECTION because of the "rigged election" BS or the fact that he's out of power and a loser means his support begins to fade. McConnell took a big gamble by allowing Trump to run again, let's see if it pays off.
