After 4 years in the White House, President Joe Biden decides to retire from public life at the age of 82. On the Republican side, former President Donald Trump doesn't decide to run for a third time in 2024, instead endorsing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. On the Democratic side, Vice President Kamala Harris runs for President with the backing of the establishment. However, one year after defeating Senator Chuck Schumer in the Democratic primary, New York Senator Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez decides to run for President with the backing of Bernie Sanders and other members of the progressive wing of the party. DeSantis cruises to victory on the GOP side by vanquishing South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, former Vice President Mike Pence, former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, and former Congresswoman Liz Cheney after winning IA, NH, SC, and NV by huge margins. On the Democratic side, there are only two people, Vice President Harris and Senator Ocasio-Cortez. After upset wins in NH, IA, and NV, Senator Ocasio-Cortez becomes the favorite to win the nomination. Super Tuesday comes, and Ocasio-Cortez wins California, Utah, Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma, Virginia, Minnesota Massachusetts, Maine, and Vermont. Despite Vice President Harris losing her home state, she continues. She wins a few southern states, but by mid April, she drops out after the New York primary. Now, it is heading towards the general election. DeSantis choses House Majority Whip Elise Stefanik as his running mate. Ocasio-Cortez choses Congressman Ro Khanna as her running mate. Going into the fall election, the biggest issues of the day is the post Covid economy (the economy still hasn't fully recovered by 2024) and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell refusal to allow a nomination hearing for Stephen Breyer's open SCOTUS seat. Governor DeSantis runs on the platform of America first populism mixed with traditional conservatism. Senator Ocasio-Cortez runs on a platform similar to Bernie Sanders (Medicare for all, free college tuition, green new deal, and taxing the wealthy). With all of this information, who wins the Presidential election in 2024, DeSantis or Ocasio-Cortez?

One of the GOP's strongest candidates vs one of the Democrats' weakest candidates? I weep for the downballot Democrats.
