All of the domestic leagues have either started or will start in the next few days. Also, the group stages of the Champions League and UEFA Cup are about to begin. So, who does anyone like? What leagues do you follow? As an Arsenal fan, I just hope Chelsea or Manchester United don't win the title this year.

Im a huge Manchester United fan, but in all honesty, they didnt deserve to win today against watford.

What are your thoughts on Arsenal's start to the season?

We've had a God-awful start to the season. Word is that our new manager will be Roy Keane.

Unfortunately being in the U.S. I'm not able to watch a lot of Arsenal games, but it's early. We had horrible road form last year; doesn't look like that has changed yet. But it's only 2 games and at least Chelsea has thankfully dropped points already.

Saw the game, and would disagree. Watford really weren't up to it and never really seemed very dangerous. When United got the first they just sat back on it and stopped trying - but they were still the better side. Second half wasn't great viewing, but on the whole I think United were good for the three points.

What are your thoughts on Arsenal's start to the season?
It's not been great. Despite some skilful and deft players, Arsenal are wholly dependent, IMO, on the form of Henry. So far he hasn't really got going and without him on form, Arsenal can be very average.

This story's been getting substantial coverage over here. Quinn and Keane back together again, shocking stuff. No disrespect to Sunderland, but I don't know what's attracting Keane right now, prospects are...poor. Good fan base, but the players just don't seem good enough, even for the Championship, and I don't see him attracting much talen to the Stadium of Light in the short term.

Going from bad to worse, is Sunderland?
Happy days in the National Conference!

We've drawn our first two matches. Away to Schalke, where we were expected to lose and frankly would have deserved to lose, and at home against Wolfsburg, where we were expected to win and would have deserved to win.

I think Keane is just lining himself up for the job at Man United once Fergusson retires. He's going to need some experience, and i think if he can get any sort of results out of a team as poor as Sunderland that'll show him to be a pretty good manager.

It will be Keane, it has been confirmed. I get a suspicion that he'll either be a suprisingly good manager, or as bad as Satan (ie; Lawrie McMenemy) was.
As for why he's doing it; no idea.

because no one believes he's got even the tiny bit of brains needed to be a big club manager, and he wants to be a big club manager. So he has to go to some third rate club and hope to be successful there and get to be a big club manager after all. I call it the Lothar Matthäus syndrome. Smiley

Hey, we haven't done that yet. 1-1, 0-0, 1-1 is hardly an exciting start to a season... then again, we had 3 red cards against us, all for fairly minor offenses and one of them downright wrong (manager of Wolfsburg about his player's dive: "In England, you can get lynched for things like that"), and two penalties against us, both of them saved, one of them undeserved. I cant believe West Ham pulled off that deal. The deal of the season. What i also cannot belive is how Man United missed out on so many players (hargreaves, Tevez, and Reo-Coker)

Hargreaves was not on the market period. Whoever had the dumb idea of trying to sign him anyways ... er ... doesn't know how Bayern does business.

I second that. I've always had a soft spot for West Ham. I hope they finish in the top 5 this season.

Internationals this weekend. Ireland off to Stuttgart, where 18 years ago we got one of our greatest results. Any sort of a result against Germany this weekend would be a great surprise, expectations for the national side here are at as low an ebb as I can recall.

Same here. While my allegiance lies firmly with Manchester United, I'd have to say that West Ham are definitely my favorite team from London, and second only to Portsmouth in the south.

We were beaten by the better team, no doubt, but that goal frustrates nonetheless. Showed some positive spirit and a good effort generally, so hopefully we can be competitive in the group.

That goal was really unfortunate. But there's a part of me that feels like Steve Staunton just isnt good enough for this job.
