I don’t want the Senate to have to wait much longer to start its duties so I’ll open the floor for nominations for 24 hours.

Fourthing Scott. He has taken a great amount of initiative by proposing the Senate Rules package and has a long and active history in Atlasia. Though we may not come from the same ideological backgrounds, the office of President pro tempore is not one where ideological considerations trump the importance of qualifications. As such, I believe Scott is the right choice for PPT.

Scott is an experienced, active Senator who has put so much effort into ensuring this smooth transition. I encourage everyone to vote for Scott. He has a history of working across party lines to accomplish great things...just what we need in this new era!

While I trust Scott to make a good pick for PPT, I'd like to strongly recommend Senator FalterinArc if Yankee himself is not interested. Falterin is a great, effective administrator who saved my ass last term and would be a most excellent deputy.

(Though I'm not familiar on if it's traditional to pick an opposite party member - in which case ignore this)

Great. I think having two members of opposing party members for PPT and Deputy PPT will show Atlasians that we are committed to bi-partisanship and mutual cooperation. I hope to be considered. Thank you.

For what it's worth, fifthing Scott for PPT.

And I don't know if public consideration of the Deputy is suddenly going to be the norm or something – I'd rather it wasn't – but as long as this is going on I wouldn't object to being considered for the post. I do agree with Spark that having the Senate leadership be composed of different parties is a good gesture, especially so with our present composition, and my activity record and previous stints administrating the House speak for themselves.

Regarding the Deputy PPT, I did plan to appoint Yankee as my DPTT. Assuming he hasn't changed his mind, I will still be doing that. If he has, then I still plan on appointing someone else from the Opposition and I do have a person in mind for that as well. I'm not dead set against appointing FalterinArc, but I don't think he had plans to serve another term administrating these things.

It was my intent to discuss situation before the start of the new Senate more, but things got kind of hectic and it slipped past.

I made a post as such prior to the start of the new Senate in my office thread with a topic "READ THIS EVERYONE" and towards the bottom I stated my desire to step aside as PPT to focus on getting back into school and other projects.
