Missouri is one step closer to approving "Rush Limbaugh Day" in the state.

The Missouri House of Representatives voted on Thursday to declare Jan. 12, which is the birthday of the late talk radio host Rush Limbaugh, in honor of the conservative icon, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

The Post-Dispatch reported that the measure must be approved by the state senate "before the end of the legislative session next Friday.
Quote
The House vote to approve "Rush Limbaugh Day," which was led by Republicans, came after a failed effort by Missouri Democrats to mark Jan. 13 "Walter Cronkite Day."

Since overeating is a tradition for every American holiday, it would be doubly appropriate for this one.

Will the holiday traditions include taking OxyContin and mocking the disabled?

Reminder that Rush literally celebrated every time he read that a gay man died of AIDS.

He did nothing to deserve such an honor. There isn't one positive thing he contributed to the nation and in fact he did much to drag political discourse down to the gutter. Wendy Williams Day would be less pathetic than this.

I don't get this. Even if you agree with Rush on everything he was nothing but a political hack, not a philosopher of any kind, not even a politician who passed any legislation that changed the country. For example, I despise Ayn Rand and all she stood for. However, while I would be disgusted with a holiday given to her I would least understand it. These Rush tributes are just political hackery.

The people who came up with this holiday should follow his example and become addicted to Oxycontin.

Rush Limbaugh denied health risks of smoking years before lung cancer diagnosis: ‘I would like a medal for smoking cigars’
Quote

Limbaugh went on to claim “firsthand smoke” isn’t that serious either.

“Firsthand smoke takes 50 years to kill people, if it does,” he said. “Not everybody that smokes gets cancer. Now, it’s true that everybody who smokes dies, but so does everyone who eats carrots.”

Limbaugh went on to ask why the government didn’t ban tobacco if it was so dangerous before claiming the society had vilified smokers, even though “their purchases are funding children’s health care programs.”

“I would like a medal for smoking cigars, is what I’m saying,” Limbaugh added.

It's safe to say he got the medal he was looking for.

As a resident of his hometown, I'd like to apologize on behalf of all of the good people of Missouri who despise and deplore everything about him. It's bad enough that we have a federal courthouse here in town named in his infamy.

You need not apologize to Atlas. If it is that much of an embarrassment for yourself and your hometown, then be the change you seek. So let it be written, so let it be done.

I thought drug addicts and smugglers were irredeemable and always considered criminals according to Republicans?

In state capitals across the country, Republican legislators vigorously debate the best way to own the libs.

Man, I might actually have to change my avatar now. But I think I'll keep it so I can volunteer for the imminent and eternal CHARLIE BAKER 2024 presidential campaign.
