Assume you live in the relevant jurisdiction (so yes, non-Americans can answer pretending they are Americans for this question.)

But for me, haha no. I'd probably make some "Lock him up!" type comment during voir dire and get booted.

Could I? Maybe. Would I try? Not a chance. If called, I would just have my mom coach me on how to get booted from the panel. Tongue

Considering my position here, I probably couldn’t.

I could, but I probably wouldn't. I've said little political stuff IRL and I think no one on Atlas knows my IRL name (if you do, then you're a stalker to a pretty insane degree, and even then I doubt you can figure it out). But yeah, I'd probably try to get out of it, if picked, since the MAGATs and QAnoners would come with pitchforks at my house, if Trump was convicted.

I certainly don't live in any jurisdiction Trump would be indicted in, but I'd likely have to commit perjury during voir dire in order to be selected.

Yes I think so, unless my posts here were considered. And I would be fair. My loathing of the man is irrelevant as to whether he is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt given the evidence presented and the law. After having been at it since rocks cooled, I am pretty good at compartmentalizing I think. Smiley

Don't see why adminning a political forum alone would make you ineligible. Although it is an interesting question if serving as a Democratic precinct chair or something would.

Being Autistic, I probably have a good argument for being ineligible for jury duty in general, so I'd just try to use that.

I certainly don't want the publicity being on a hypothetical Trump jury would bring me.

This.  Having served on a few juries, I think I'm pretty good at evaluating the evidence objectively and reaching a fair verdict.

no lol

I don't think I would want to be on that jury, either. Way too high-profile. I'd worry about some nutjob assassinating one or more of them if they found him guilty. Even year(s) after the fact.

Yes but I wouldn’t want to given the publicity of the trial would probably surpass OJ Simpson , would result in being sequestered for potentially months , and also would he insanely stressful

I mean you could look it at as an investment. It'd probably pay off since you could write a book or do some talk show interviews.

Once you give a talk show interview, you would he instantly hated by 45% of the nation no matter what the verdict is and the hardcores on either side would probably make it very difficult for you to go to places as you will get hate from someone no matter where you go

A story told me by an older prosecutor I used to be a co-worker with. He had a jury trial cross getting some guy with a lengthy record. One of the jurors was an absolute drop-dead bombshell liquor. In bordier she gave some extremely prosecutor friendly questions that indicated she was a strong supporter of police and yes would generally suspect that someone charged with a crime was probably guilty because the police did their investigation. To my co-workers shock, they didn't challenge the juror and left are on. After the defendant was convicted, as it was a pretty open-and-shut case, he asked the defense attorney why he left the woman on the jury.

The defense attorney replied that he talked it over with his client at the table during a break. He said his client told him the following. Look, you know I'm probably going to get convicted in do some years in prison. I know it too. So if I'm going to spend a few days in trial before that happens, I'd rather spend it sitting here looking at her. Grin

I'm sure I could, since I can be a professional in real life and my name's not actually dingojoe.  How would they know what I'm actually thinking?

No because he would not be convicted in my local area, instead it would be a federal court somewhere on the eastern seaboard.
