Having it be the second Sunday in April would make much more sense. Why was this never addressed?

Non of the Holiday happened on the exact date that man created them
Christ wasn't born on Xmas he was born in Summer but gift coincide with Christ and Santa
Easter coincide with Spring due to flowers bloom
Day of Dead/Halloween coincide with Harvest, prep for Winter

Palms were very frequent during the Spring time is Israel like in LA, that's why it's called Palm Sunday when Christ entered Bethlehem to go to his death

Because it's theologically important that Easter be celebrated the Sunday after Passover, and Passover is reckoned by the Jewish lunar calendar which is different to our ordinary solar calendar.

I know December 25th was picked for political reasons.

No it wasn't. It was long believed that people died on the same day they were conceived, and nine months from March is December.

There was a pagan festival around that time.

While that is true, it is a common myth that Christmas was a pagan holiday. Said pagan holidays had little to do with Christmas as we know it.

Claiming that ancient Romans decided to dress up pagan holidays in a Christian light is anti-Catholic bad history.

The date was what I meant, not the festival itself.

Easy.

Hard to have a fixed date to a non-existent event.

Because it's theologically important that Easter be celebrated the Sunday after Passover, and Passover is reckoned by the Jewish lunar calendar which is different to our ordinary solar calendar.

If the date of Passover and therefore Easter is pegged to the Jewish calendar, why are there different dates for Easter in Eastern Orthodoxy vs. Western Christianity?

I don't believe the date is different: its just that the Julian calendar is out-of-sync with the Gregorian calendar.

But why should that matter if the day is pegged to a calendar which is neither Julian nor Gregorian?

I believe that the dates for Easter were calculated and set centuries in advance. The Gregorian calendar then recalculated them but the Julian calendar using countries did not and once they started using the Gregorian calendar the Orthodox church still insisted on keeping the same dates.
