I've seen enough.  The Falcons stink.

For those considering playing the pick'em game, here are the rules.  These will seem familiar if you're following the college football thread or played in previous years. Smiley

The game will run weekly through the NFL season, including the playoffs.  NewYorkExpress will post each week's slate of games in this thread.  Make your picks by replying in this thread one or more times; don’t send them by PM to either him or me.  You can either copy the list of games and bold your predicted winners, or just post your list of winners.

If bolding your winners, games with zero or both teams bolded will not be counted.  If listing your winners, slight errors in team names will be counted if the intent is unambiguous.  I (or anyone) may point out errors so you have a chance to correct them, but this is not guaranteed to happen – ultimately, you’re responsible for getting your picks posted correctly.

Your pick for a game must be posted before the official start time for that game.  This is a hard cutoff.  You can change any of your picks by making a subsequent post, as long as it's before the game start time.  Please post a new reply for any changes; just editing your original post is easy for me to miss and could also raise timestamp questions.

You don’t have to post your whole list at once.  For example, in a week with Thursday and Sunday games, you could optionally post only the Thursday game picks by Thursday, and then follow up with the Sunday games anytime before they kick off.  Or if you forget and miss the Thursday games, you can still post picks for the later games.

If a game is canceled or postponed due to COVID or any other reason: if it's just delayed within its originally scheduled week, it remains on the list for that week.  If it's pushed to a later week or delayed indefinitely, it becomes a "no contest" for the original week.  If it gets rescheduled in a later week, that's considered a new game and you'll need to pick it again; the original pick will not carry over.

Each correct pick is worth one point.  After all of the week’s games are complete (usually on Tuesday morning) I’ll post the results for that week and the year-to-date standings.

It's full of big games!

On a practical note, if people want to make things easy for the scorekeeper, it's helpful when your picks are single-spaced (especially in the college pick'em) so I don't have to scroll down as I'm entering them in the spreadsheet. Smiley

As a group, we're just barely over .500 so far (if the Bears and Raiders win, we'll finish below it).  Politics Fan is currently leading at 10-4 with a few people at 9-5.

Saints played a really good game today

Clearly they need to play all their home games in Jacksonville!

You were saying the Bears were gonna win, Stafford knows the Bears very well as a Lion

I didn't pick the Bears (in fact, nobody did).  I just said that if the Bears & Raiders both win, the pick'em players will collectively have a losing record this week.

Everyone picks the Bengals, the Beats lost on the Road, they are a tough team to beat at Home
I didn't.  Tongue

In fact, only 6 of 14 people so far have picked the Bengals over the Bears.

Damn, so looks like the Packers just suck more than the Saints are good. I don’t think anyone saw the Panthers clobbering them today.

Raiders beating the Steelers pretty easily also is a shocker, and suggests maybe this Raiders team is way better than anyone thought going into the season.

Oh and have no idea why the Colts would have ever wanted Carson “Glass Bones” Wentz. He’s already injured again hahahaha! Who could have seen this coming???

I saw some reports this morning about some Saints coaches being out for COVID protocols and thought about changing my pick to the Panthers, but I don't like to change from my initial picks (because it usually turns out wrong).

The Cowboys make a long FG at the end to win their game, while the Vikings miss a short one to lose theirs.

Truly heartbreaking way for Kansas City to lose, in addition to the late fumble, they blew 10+ point leads at multiple points in the game. Much like the last game that the Ravens played, the team out in front slowly saw the game slip away from them, only this time, the Ravens were the beneficiary of that. Also a question for Georgia Moderate was one of New Orleans-Carolina or Tennessee-Seattle the first unanimous wrong pick? Those two seemed like results that really came out of left field.

Tennessee-Seattle is the only unanimous wrong pick so far.  One person picked Carolina over New Orleans.
