Is it too early to start canvassing for the pick'em/Fantasy Football?

We are now just 1 month away from the start of the NFL season. Any predictions?

Zach Wilson will throw for more Touchdowns than Mac Jones and Cam Newton combined.

I am open to someone else running the NFL pick em this year, if no one else wants to, I can do it again with GeorgiaModerate

I'd honestly prefer to switch with you for the college football pick'em (though picking out 25 games would be rough on me).

I feel good about picking CFB games and such, just not sure I have the total time to do both NFL and CFB as I am a teacher now. NFL is easy for someone to run as you just have to post the schedule each week with all the NFL games, CFB is something I enjoy doing though.

Fair enough.

Can't promise that the Thursday Night game (when applicable) would be available to pick, as I find that really hard to pick.

An announcement:

GeorgiaModerate and I will be hosting the NFL Pick'em this year.

Georgia Moderate will explain the formal rules shortly, but rest assured they are similar to previous incarnations of the pick'em, and the college football pick'em.

We will be playing all eighteen weeks, the playoffs, and the Super Bowl.

The schedule for week 1, which begins, Thursday night September 9, will be up before the end of the month.

After that, each week's schedule will be up, my schedule permitting, the Friday preceding each week's games to allow for time to picking Thursday night games, except for Weeks 17, 18 and all playoff weeks, including the Super Bowl, as those weeks do not include Thursday games.

Good luck, and happy picking.

Guys, seriously, put a new thread up.  I've ran this game before and the mods will pin it for you.  We can use this one to discuss the NFL.  Otherwise it will be a hot mess here between picking and talking about the NFL games.

The College Football thread has been a combination of pick'em and discussion in recent years, and that has gone smoothly for the most part, so I don't see why this should be any different.

If we are doing a fantasy league we need to set a draft date.

I am for doing the draft.

If I remember correctly, Illinwek is our manager. Where is he, and how can nudge him into scheduling the draft.

You can email him via the ESPN app, which I've done.

I did that too, and as of yesterday at noon, he hadn't scheduled the draft.

Given J.K Dobbins is out with a torn ACL, I'm switching my pick in the Raiders/Ravens game from the Ravens, to the Raiders.

For those taking part in the pick'em, please bear in mind that the week one Saints/Packers game will not be in New Orleans, and may not end up being on the twelfth due to the damage from Hurricane Ida.

If the date is changed, either GeorgiaModerate or I will let you know what the new date is, and what changes to the scoring from the pick'em will happen as a result.

Gus Edwards, Baltimore RB1, is out for the season (ACL).
D'Andre Swift, Detroit RB1, is questionable (homicide).

Where is your source for it being a homicide? What I'm hearing is it's a groin strain.

It's not big in and of itself, I felt bolding and dramatically increasing the size would be the best way to demarcate the different dates and times picks are due, especially for the Sunday games.

Thanks for the feedback, by the way.

Apparently I'm missing the Broncos/Steelers game.

For that game, I will be picking the Pittsburgh Steelers.
