Do you think this verdict of today in the Chauvin trial will be a REAL turning point in our country?

Do you think from here on, we will start to see "justice for all?" Will our country make a concerted effort to change it's unjust ways with regard to racism?

I'm hoping--as with the capitol riot on Jan 6--that people are being shaken awake finally, and that the tide is turning on this heartbreaking conversation we've been having far too long on racial injustice.

Was there any evidence of racism by Chauvin?

Well, thank goodness we got Chauvin off the street before he could kneel on a white man's neck for 9 minutes.  Although, I believe he was actually on trial for murder and not for racism.

No of course not.

The media and national narrative is still hyper focused on race (amongst other things) So long as people inadvertently continue to reinforce social myths, racism is only going to get worth.

Similar to how invading Iraq and bombing the country for a decade to 'fight muh war on terror' only made more terrorists.

We will never learn.

No, and things will only get worse past this obvious verdict. Racism hasn’t ended by this decision and the US political and economic standing will continue to decline for most people.

Do you think he would have murdered a white man?

I'm not saying a change over night, but don't you think we have gotten as low as we can go, and now with President Biden backing a "justice for all" mentality, you don't think we will start moving forward on changing how the police do their jobs?

No racism will not end with one incident. But you don't see the tide turning on this issue? You think nothing is going to change?

Well, I think the surveillance state (cameras capturing everything) will be almost universal going forward and that will create a very enforced atmosphere for policing.  Will it lead to a more enlightened form of policing?  That'll be a hard haul.

I am satisfied that Derek Chauvin would have been similarly convicted and sentenced had the person he suffocated were white.

Floyd family, Breyona family have already been financially compensated for their loss Floyd 27M and 7 M for Breyona, so this was a slam dunk case, that's why it won't be any Civil Trials, the state won't make Police Officers testify in a Civil Trial, that's why they settled the case already

I wish the Officers had to Testify we don't know what were they thinking

Any of them

And here's where I go into generational theory again...

We'll see how the Capitol attackers are treated. 1T society is very unfriendly to "rule-breakers," so this could reveal how far along we are in the transition, as well as what the new "rules" are.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that, but there is has certainly been a much higher awareness to problems in policing and especially police brutality towards African Americans. What's important now is to implement commonsense reforms to improve policing and tackle other issues such as criminal justice, housing and economic opportunity and not get into narratives such as "defund the police" that ain't solve a single problems but causes backlash for the actual cause of justice.

Yeah

I have seen Tucker Carlson and Ben Shaprio criticize the trial. That is their bitch ass way of telling white people they have no problem seeing George Floyd killed.

The TIDE TURNED WHEN TRUMP LEFT OFFICE, IF TRUMP WAS STILL IN OFFICE WE WOULDNT HAVE GOT GUILTY, we would of had a Manslaughter charge with on Appeal, Chauvan would get only 3 yrs now, with losing the 3rd degree murder charge even on Appeal he would likely get a decade or more imprisonment

You know what? I don't care what they were thinking, because obviously they were thinking criminal thoughts to do what they did.
