Interesting, has to do with public interest

The Daily Mail’s and Red State reporter Jennifer Van Laar’s news gathering and publication of images depicting a nude Hill brushing another woman’s hair and holding a bong are protected by the 1st Amendment, and the content of the pictures was in the public interest because of Hill’s position as an elected official, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Yolanda Orozco wrote in decisions that dismissed Hill’s cases against both.

Leave it to the Republicans and lolbertarians to capitalize on domestic abuse situations.

Katie Hill should not have resigned, the witch hunt mob really went after her and unfortunately she folded to the pressure.
It’s very interesting how this happened to a swing seat top GOP target for the house as well...

Where was RFromNJ when Gaetz was having relations with minors? Hm? Nowhere to be seen, probably trying to find the next Democrat scandal whether true or not.

CA-25 wasn't a "top" Republican target (she was targeted in the same way Jennifer Wexton was targeted); this is an incredibly dishonest statement.

Not really posting about the scandal, I just find it an intriguing legal lawsuit with interesting applications of the 1st amendment. Its interesting that Hulk Hogan managed to smash Gawker but Hill lost this.

Another public interest one I'm interested in is Depp vs Heard in VA. He has no chance of winning that lawsuit but I wonder if it's gonna get thrown out on SLAPP before it even gets there.

It’s perfectly consistent to believe she is a victim of revenge porn and was in the wrong for sleeping with a subordinate.

I may be in the minority (and I don't feel hugely bad for Hill because IIRC she voluntarily resigned, Pelosi wasn't forcing her), but I don't think there's necessarily anything wrong with a boss sleeping with a subordinate. If both parties are in favor of it and no one is being pressured then it's fine. The problem only comes if the boss uses their power over the subordinate, then it's harassment. But if both people are happy about it there's no issue. Workplace romance does happen. I've known at least one happy marriage to come out of it.

Sure you might get issues with favoritism, but then you can get issues with favoritism in the workplace over anything, even something as simple as a boss and subordinate who like to go golfing together, etc. If you ask me favoritism is a separate issue.
