-$154.00 Billion.... Delay on the implementation of the Space Exploration, Development, and Settlement Act

Is there a way to remove this delay or is it too late? As most of you know this has been a big issue of mine for nearly 2 years and I was disappointed to see that it was delayed.

It's not too late to do anything because we're taking this up as the new Senate.

Personally, I'm weary of all big investments in space exploration (and inevitably colonization) when we have environmental as well as financial and sustainability crises on earth. I am inclined to support the delay unless there is a pressing need for this program now.
I’ll need to re-read the bill but if there is renewed exploration or settlement on the moon, the possibility of sifting lunar soil for Helium-3 to use in fusion experiments would be extremely beneficial. Should fusion be proven to be viable, we could have extremely low-emission energy, and a lot of it.

This is just one thing where Earth’s problems can be almost entirely solved by space. I understand that it’s a big ask, but I want to point out that this is not basically throwing money into space. We have some serious possibility here.

I assume AGA's amendment has passed. Introducing the following amendment. Space is an investment that will, in the end, pay off in massive dividends. But we need to do it sooner rather than later.

Well, either way just let it be known that it’s introduced.

I really want to mess around and clean up those income tax brackets but

a) It'd be a whole lot of annoying work to try and recalculate all that
b) Even a modest increase for high brackets gets them above 100% tax in some regions.

The need to redo the tax code is vital to starting and keeping businesses in Atlasia.
You can submit an amendment to the budget to do that.

Respectfully, the whole thing needs to be reworked.
You can rework that with an amendment and you can change anything within the bill unless you are lazy. I wonder what would you want to change if you are willing to elaborate on that.
Most changes to the tax brackets that make it a more progressive system would have taxes of over 100% for high earners in Fremont and Lincoln. Until the regions change that we can't do much without causing a larger deficit or raising taxes on low earners which I think none of us want.

The problem is that afaik we don’t have the numbers the GM uses for the tax calculations. I have old ones that use the same brackets and percentages, but I don’t know if we can alter the brackets themselves with those numbers accurately. Some of us need to sit down and just try to work it out here.

The GM doesn't do the tax calculations, the CG if it was filled should do it. Presuming that I care, I'll probably provide calculations for the income tax in the next few days.

I continue to forget that the CG even exists since it’s been empty for a while

It's been 2 weeks since anyone's said anything.

If we need to make a special committee to sit down and crunch the numbers and get this passed, then we need to do it now before we have to make another continuing resolution.

I specifically made the TMTH act like that so we didn’t have to worry about it here.
