People from both parties believe the media is inherently biased against them, but that isn't at all true. It wasn't too long ago when MSNBC of all networks fired liberal host Phil Donahue for opposing the Iraq War, among other things. And we just went through 4 years of CNN being hell-bent on attacking Trump right after propelling him to the presidency. It’s a cliché, but it really does happen to both sides. Why? Profits, duh.
Some people in this thread seem to realize that, but most people don't, and that's really unfortunate. Holding the media accountable must be a non-partisan & non-ideological affair.
The media very clearly has a pro-establishment angle. In 2004 that meant shilling relentlessly for Bush's wars, in 2012 it meant supporting Obama and denouncing Ron Paul and these days it means supporting the Democratic Party wholeheartedly while indirectly slandering Bernie Sanders, since the most establishmentarian of the Republicans like Bill Kristol switched sides.
