The only institution Americans of ALL races trust is the medical industry probably.

No one trusts the government. Nor politicians.
Military too militaristic.
Police too corrupt and brutal.
Media too corrupt and ideological.
The churches too sinful and ideological.
Lawyers are ambulance chasers.
The education system isn't about learning, but about breezing through to get a degree.
The fire department has the same cultural grievances as the police.....and so on and so on.......

What can be done to fix the institution problem.....

If anything, the problem is that people are too trusting of institutions, whether it be their preferred media outlet, their preferred politicians, teachers, school principals, etc.

The problem is Trump, Cruz and Hawley whom started the Insurrectionists are still free, there hasn't been any accountability, we restored the belief in our Judicial system with Chavan but as long those three remain free and they can determine the outcome of 2022, midterms, people are gonna have low confidence

They freed Hillary but she didn't start an Insurrectionists

I’d argue that in some cases, they’re too trusting (such as in the media)

The military from what I know is very well the only major institution that is still very respected among everyone. Small and medium sized business are respected as well.

The distrust in the media is  absolutely 100% justified.

Institutions rarely deserved trust in the first place. Americans have come to distrust them because the veil of illusions about their nature has been lifted. Whether or not you see that as a good thing is dependent on your relationship with those institutions and the abstract notion of faith in institutions.

Get rid of all of the so called "Opinion Shows" on News channels

This 1 move alone will radically change things and do a lot to restore trust in other American institutions and decrease the divide among the American people. let the news go back to simply being about informing people about what is happening in the world instead of being an echo chamber that allows both sides to live in their own realities

And education.

Schools are nothing less than indoctrination factories which repudiate independent thinking and reward obedience. This is true at all levels but is perhaps most obvious in the university, which is heralded as the necessary entrance to civilized society by the very same liberal elites who control them, and run them as for-profit enterprises which crush students' debt by raising tuitions to fund academia's lavish salaries and churn out substandard education devoid of inquiry or practical knowledge. And yet, most people continue to esteem academia, hold state- or profit-run education in high regard, and assume whatever information they convey is genuine rather than coerced propaganda.

Channels that call themselves "News" shouldn't have a separate set of programming that's just hack pundits giving extremely-biased commentary that's generally filled with lies and inflammatory rhetoric.
