That’s a pretty charitable reading of things. The article actually says that no one actually knows exactly how the complaint and testing process will work and that the law would leave it up to the State Board of Education to craft the precise rules.

What level of “suspicion” is needed before the burden shifts to the accused to prove their biology? Who gets to decide what level of invasive inspection is necessary to settle the issue? Who knows!  Why would the FL leg bother thinking through any of the particulars as long as they’ve accomplished their goal of sticking it to trans athletes?

This kind of stuff pretty much proves to me that "scepticism" of "globalization" and "immigration" is basically mostly just old-fashioned racism.

The reason I say this is because the excuse for this has always been that the white working class are the ones most at risk economically from immigration and globalization, so of course they are the ones who are primarily against it. Nothing to do with racism.

But these people are OBSESSED with transpeople and this time they cannot use the "economic anxiety" excuse. Transpeople in no way shape or form affects the economic prosperity of the white working class. It is just oldfashioned hatred towards those who are different. Even if I tried to play devil's advocate for this; wouldn't simply asking for birth certificates be more than enough to counter that """super important""" issue? No need for invasive tests required

There is no need for medical tests for kids at all (I guess you could simply test for testosterone alongside any other doping agents; but by the time doping becomes a concern you are facing adults and full professionals)

But these are children who may be subjected to this. Not for a crime, but simply because their gender may be in question. The idea of an anatomy test being including in this bill is disgusting and could easily be abused by predators.
