If you're Christian I don't see what's so illogical about what she's saying. We're in a training ground right now, which will eventually be meaningless in the infinitely long afterlife. (The percentage of your existence that was spent on Earth will approach 0%.) Only if you committed a mortal sin for which you do not ask forgiveness before death, will your actions in this life continue to matter, say a trillion years from now. You may not have thought about in that way, but that is implied by Christianity (all branches).
