Justice Breyer just gave a speech at Harvard against court packing. Radical left organizations like "Demand Justice" actively fight back and demand him to retire. They went so far as to hire a truck with billboard circulating SC.

I used to think Breyer would retire either in 2021 or 2022. But now I feel even if he was inclined to do so, he would think again now, as he don't want to be seen as retiring under the pressure of radical left to benefit Dems, making more people treat Supreme Court as a partisan political institution.

He should retire. Whether he does or not depends on if his ego is as big as RBGs’ was.

Actually if he doesn't retire in 2022, it may be a boost to Dem voting.

No. He'll die on the court and quite possibly be replaced by a Republican. Conservatives get that the court is political, liberals don't for the most part.

If he does retire, it will be 2024 or after in the statement about Crt packing, it's clear he has no plans to retire now

D's need to stop wishing retirement on a healthy man. Kennedy retired, due to stopping Ds from filling the swing judge replacement in 2020, it was pure Politicial

Breyer is not a swing vote

Almost surely yes, but the activist campaign is counterproductive at this point and may incentivize him to wait until 2022.

This. Demand Justice etc are just grifters trying to get money out of rich liberal #resistance donors.

Breyer isn't retiring unless he died or says so, you can't predict anything with a judge and this thread is already in US Discussion
