Would have lost by about 10-12 pts. If Weld couldn't beat Kerry, Romney for sure couldn't.

If Weld had run against Kerry in 1994 he might have won.  MIGHT have.  Kerry was never well-regarded as a candidate and was a surprisingly weak favorite in his re-elections.

In 1994, Romney MIGHT have pulled off an upset against KERRY, but never Kennedy.
