Surprised that there are still no AstraZeneca takers here. I know this is an American forum, but where are the Europeans?

Well, many European countries are limiting their use of AZ, and if they aren’t, their rollouts are too slow. The UK is the only country which really has it in mass use, but we have a strict age-based rollout, so I doubt many of us British posters are old enough to have received it yet (as well as its use having been paused for under-30s).

Just got my first dose of Moderna! So far no issues. A little bit sweaty and maybe a tiny bit light-headed, but I'm also a needle-phobe, so that describes me after pretty much any shot I get.

I have one of those weird appointments because I picked Walgreens and the one near me administers Pfizer. At the time, their system was scheduling everyone four weeks apart because it was apparently simpler and that's the bare minimum for Moderna. The minimum separations are apparently more important and anything up to 6 weeks between shots is perfectly fine. I could've tried to change it, but next Tuesday will be fine for my second shot. I got J+J, it was the only one offered.  Feeling like I got ripped off, because it's only 66% effective.  They keep saying "oh it's 100% effective against death and hospitalization" but what scares me the most about COVID isn't death/hospitalization, it's the "long COVID" -- the neurological impairment and degeneration of the lungs -- which can come from even mild or asymptomatic cases.

So even though I'm vaccinated, I guess I'm still not going to be going out until the rest of the world gets vaccinated as well and the numbers collapse.  Bummer.  Here in Seattle the numbers have actually gone up in the last two weeks.

I don't think many (any?) of our European posters (already a rarity) are in their 60s or up, those are the people getting vaccinated in Europe, and especially with AZ, since it has been suspended for younger people.

Though I would have assumed at least a couple UK posters would have had it

Fair, here's to hoping that Canada and Europe pick up the pace.

Got my first dose of Pfizer on Tuesday and had no side effects other than a very sore arm. If anything I had a bit more energy than usual.

Pfizer. I’m more brand loyal to Moderna (Dolly and the government) but I of course appreciate the shorter wait time, and I like to think I’m supporting Katalin Kariko since she is an executive officer at BioNTech.

I got my second Pfizer shot yesterday. I just woke up with body aches, but other than that, I feel fine.

Pfizer.

...and congratulations to all who have been (or will be) fully vaccinated.

Hopefully, more and more people who are concerned about the safety of the vaccines will change their minds and get it. The results so far seem to indicate that getting it is the correct choice.

Although things are getting better we still have a long way to go before things will get back to a new normal.

I'm holding out for the QazCovid-in.
I asked today but they said they were "not offering any at this time" — they were also out of the Sputnik, the EpiVacCorona, AND the Covaxin. Had to settle for Moderna b/c it's "FDA-approved" :/

Got my 2nd Moderna last Friday.  Sore arm (like the first shot) and the pain came on quicker, only not as severe.  No "flu like symptoms" after either.

I got my first Pfizer dose last Monday.

We don't have a long way to go. Almost everyone who wants a vaccine can get one now. Everything should completely go back to normal now. F**k the media for fearmongering.

I got my 2nd dose of Pfizer this week. The sore arm seemed to be worse this time. I also felt run down and quite tired the day after, although I hadn't been getting good sleep recently, so that may have been compounding things. Otherwise, no big deal.

I am somewhat concerned it's not working though. I don't hear the others yet. I thought I'm supposed to hear the hive mind by now. Or does that just take the full two weeks after the 2nd dose?

Dolly Parton and Kamala Harris got the same vaccine I got so Team Moderna is in good company.

I’m now Moderna-vaxxed.

The Red Cross had 4 tents up (even though I signed up to be vaxxed at my doc, they assigned me to the vaxxing tents instead) and there was a steady stream of people in and out from all ages.

So second dose in June? If Austria is getting people fully vaxxed then that's going to be way quicker than almost everywhere else in Europe.

They said in 4-5 weeks.

We are vaxxing people just along the EU average (maybe a bit above-average speed), but it seems the next 2-3 months will see a significant increase in the share of vaccinated.

So, my arm hurts now (normal) and I started sweating like a dog during the night now.

I think I never sweated so much since ages ... my whole bed is wet and I went to drink 3 glasses of water since 9pm.

Did anyone else experience this sweat after the 1st Moderna ?
