The weird thing about this new abortion flex is it was actually kind of true and something that Republicans used to some success pre-Dobbs. For example in 2014 Maryland Democrats tried to rag Hogan on abortion and he replied that while he was personally pro-life Roe was the law of the land and there was nothing he could do about it and it worked. But you didn't see it outside of Republicans running in very blue states, swing state ones usually attacked abortion ferociously. Now that that excuse isn't valid anymore they're trying it any way and seem to think voters will actually believe them.

Yes, but the way Dixon phrased it was in a 'you losers are wrong, but you can vote for this crap now' way.

She’s so bad at this lol. This is what happens when you think you can just walk into the Governor’s mansion with no prior experience in politics and zero political skills just by piggybacking off of Trump’s endorsement.

Whitmer got so lucky with the ballot signing scandal.

Like... one of these is a contraceptive one of these is not. They're not the same, even if you make a decentish point.

This needs to be rerun over the entire country, not just Michigan.

Did she really think this would make a good zinger or something?   Whitmer really did face an attempted kidnapping, they were arrested, charged, and convicted in court, it really happened.  Why "wouldn't" Whitmer take it seriously?   No wonder Dixon is losing in a landslide, she's pathetic.

I'd honestly prefer to have Big Gretch as president.

Dixon and Mastriano truly trying to see who can get closer to the bottom at this point. Whitmer may actually beat her 2018 margin.

Same, I think she’s an extremely strong presidential candidate. Warnock would be a great running mate for her.

I'm never much of a fan of plucking battleground State incumbent Senators out of their seats. Maybe inevitable Maryland Governor Wes Moore would be a good running mate instead?

Not as long as Kemp is in office.

Whether people want to acknowledge it or not on this website, the “sports” issue is a winning conversation generally for Republicans.

Unfortunately, the article is behind a paywall, but it's not difficult to discern the main takeaway: Dixon doesn't have any cash and the outside PACs aren't stepping in (yet) to pick up the slack.

So that's two important swing states (along with Pennsylvania) where the Republican candidate has not ran any TV ads.

Bottom line is Dixon and GOP don't have money to "go big in October" considering jumping in right now would be very high ad rates that they absolutely could not afford (unless the RGA is stepping in, which we know they aren't)

I’m there with Gretch, still feel a tinge of nervousness with PA. But it would (will?) be great to have them as lines of defense for 2024.
