My own rule for now:

I am not going to believe a single poll until after the 2022 midterms to see if they fixed their methodology issues

These polling firms have soiled the mattress too many times to be believed on their face

Surprised Whitmer is doing this well. I think her numbers were worse a few months ago. She is definitely favored for 2022, but it will be competitive.

The hatred for her is strong in some circles, as the October plot demonstrates. Between this and the Capitol Putsch we are going to have some clear lessons for right-wing extremists, most obviously what we liberals did while Trump was President and we did not like the electoral results. We sucked up to the reality, but we protested, protested, and protested.

She has dealt as effectively with COVID-19 as any Governor, but that required the shutting down of any likely places of mass infection, like bars and restaurants.
