"Civil Rights was tout court a culture war issue" is a new one. They called it the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom for a reason. MLK is one of the great American thinkers on economic inequality and coercion.

I’m aware, I’m just saying that LBJ’s record on civil rights is more consequential than his record on economics.
