Weird things happen with low turnout! Negative winds for Labor in Fremont cost them nowhere else because of their stellar campaigning in both Hawaii and (particularly) Nebraska, but ignoring a state, even if every party does it, comes with a price when you're the incumbent.

Thanks, glad the results are in! Just double-check Florida, because it has the DA at 24 seats despite gaining 26. Liberals also have 5 despite gaining 8.

Also, the total number of House seats is 119, so there's a missing seat.

So here's this month's map (assuming we're still going with them, but we're pushing towards the end of the month and that leaves us only two weeks of campaign time and updates and polls):

(plus Houston (Federalist) and American Samoa (Labor))

With nearly half the month over, I think we should just take a break. But that will also require the regions to pass new legislation delaying all their elections this cycle.

Also I'd be good with pushing back this month as well. We started quite late and so far no one has campaigned yet. Seems like people are pretty burned out.

My chart must be wrong then. What's the cycle number?

(This map is suppose to be the last turn of round 2, btw.)

EDIT: Nevermind, the VI isn't up until turn 3

Alright then. I think it's better to push them back. I expect the regions to take the necessary steps, and we'll be back in full force next month!

Mr. GM, your input is urgently needed here. This legislation directly affects NPC campaigns, and if this is too much of a workload or if you agree with the changes but would need a Deputy, please let the Senate know.

Mr. GM,

For the cycle that was slated to take place this August, and will hopefully resume in September with prior events graded and accounted for, the Labor Party and the Democratic Alliance have agreed to endorse each other for second preference in all executive elections.

…are we not moving to the next cycle for September? Did I miss a memo somewhere? Very possible I did, but please enlighten me.

Peanut never posted any polls or events. Why would we move to the next cycle when we don't know what's happening in the current one?

Lumine never did last July and moved on to the next cycle anyway – and there was a comparable number of events posted and graded during that month. There have been several cycles in addition where polling came very late, nearly or actually too late to matter for campaigning, and if Peanut somehow showed up within five minutes of the time of writing to post them he'd fall within this category.

If Peanut had been completely MIA and unable to attend to NPCs as he was this July, I'd see the argument for that. But he quite clearly posted a campaign schedule that everyone except for him has followed.

EDIT: if I am interpreting this correctly it's also the case that the GM is bound to run NPCs at the end of every month unless they are cancelled beforehand. Peanut could probably override that if he wanted but he'd have to do it before the end of the schedule he's set for himself and everyone here.

Quote
Quote from: GM Directive #003
The Pontifex Maximus shall run NPC elections for the state and local governments of the Republic of Atlasia at the end of every month, based upon a public and previously determined calendar and schedule. This and subsequent directives regarding said elections will be legally based upon Article VI, Section 1 of the Constitution of the Republic of Atlasia; and Section 3, ii. b of the Game Engine Reconstruction Act.

So that's not our fault. We were told that events and polls would be posted, but it never happened. In any case, we're past the deadline and many events, as you know, have been done in Tennessee, Georgia, and Connecticut the past few days. There's been little campaigning because no one really knows what to campaign on, so we're left to making generic partisan appeals. Or directing the campaign to non-NPC issues.
