Even before Tony Blair removed Clause IV, Labour has probably only ever had two truly leftist leaders pre-Blair, Clement Attlee and Micheal Foot, I'm pretty sure that the Labor of Atlasia is nowhere near these two
Correct, it’s much further left

Lol no, Michael Foot wrote a manifesto so left that it got nicknamed "The Longest Suicide Note in History."
Atlasia is to the left of Britain in 1983.

Tony Blair distanced the British Labour Party from worker ownership with his revision of Clause IV, while the Atlasian Labor Party explicitly endorses worker ownership, so it is further left in that respect. The Labor platform is not equivalent to an endorsement of a European-style welfare state, which contain capitalist economies characterized by a strong private sector that is not worker owned. If the platform had said "The Labor Party is socialist," perhaps I could have given it the benefit of the doubt because it is not uncommon to refer to oneself as a socialist without truly being a socialist. However, the Labor platform made it clear that it supports real socialism, not social democracy labelled as "socialism."

Even if this isn't exactly a new plank of the platform, many Atlasians are likely not aware of this part of the platform, and I thought that it would be worthwhile to bring this to their attention. I know that many people agree with me.

I also fail to see how my statement regarding Fremont's taxes is controversial, since the sum of the 60% top regional rate and the 40.6% top federal exceeds 100%. The corporate tax rates also dwarf those of any other developed country in the world, and that's on top of the federal rates. I have already opined greatly on the tax rates of Lincoln, which suffers from some of the same problems, so I'll stop here to avoid sounding like a broken record.

What’s so bad about worker ownership (of at least certain industries)? Or at least greater participation of the people who actually are the backbone of the company in running what goes on behind the scenes of the company? As it stands decisions are handed in from top down often with zero input from the workers - only from the major decision makers and the shareholders. I don’t see what’s so wrong or radical about undoing that unhealthy dynamic.

Nothing, people should be able to start coops if they want. I just don't think that the state should give one ownership form the leg up.

Statement on Current State of Atlasia

There is some concern over the lack of activity in Atlasia, and this concern is grounded in reality. There are hardly any people running for office this month and fewer bills are being debated than usual. Real life often gets in the way of Atlasia, and we have to respect that. However, I believe that Atlasia will survive this period for it has gotten past multiple activity crises in its long history. I will continue to be an active voice on the floor of the Senate and am standing for reelection in the August Federal Elections, which begin tomorrow.

Statement on Recent Election

August elections have completed, and I would like to thank the people of Atlasia for electing me to another term. I will continue work to help all Atlasians and help keep Atlasia active. I am open to any questions or suggestions from my constituents, which include everyone in the country.

Statement On Political Parties

As you can see, I have recently joined the Democratic Alliance. I felt that this party is the best fit for my views. However, my political philosophy has remain unchanged, and I will always vote for what I believe is right, independent of outside pressure.

I would also like to note that I disagree with the Democratic Alliance's recent statement condemning the Federalist Party and have a desire to continue to cooperate with the party where feasible.

Statement on October Elections

As you may have noticed, I have endorsed Senator Joseph Cao for President. I believe that he has the skills and experience needed to serve as an effective commander-in-chief. He has provided valuable contributions to the Senate floor and is always dedicated to Atlasia. He also represents a fresh change in leadership compared to the long streak of left-wing Presidents we have had for the past several cycles. I believe that this change in pace would help invigorate activity in Atlasia further, which everyone can agree is a good thing.

I would also like to announce that I am not running for reelection in October. I have many IRL obligations to attend to and would prefer that someone who is willing to devote more time to the game would be better suited in my place. I may run for office again sometime in the distant future, however.

Statement on Constitutional Amendment

I would like to encourage everyone to vote "No" on the proposed constitutional amendment in Lincoln. While including declared write-ins when determining the size of the General Court may sound good at first, it could lead to gaming of the system. Since a declaration as a write-in can be made at the end of the election, when almost all the votes have been cast, it could be used strategically to secure a party an advantage if that party would win the extra seat.

Statement on Federal Elections

As you may already know, I have endorsed Sen. Joseph Cao for president. Until now, I have been undecided as to who should be my second choice for President. After some consideration, I have decided to endorse Sen. Spark for second preference. Despite our disagreements, I commend his push to reign in excessive taxation and spending in the federal government, and he has comported himself very professionally and respectfully during the campaign. While I respect Sen. Scott, I believe that Sen. Spark is closer to what this country needs in a commander-in-chief.

I would also like to express disappointment in the lack of centrist and right-of-center candidates on the ballot for national senate. Without write-ins, left-wing candidates are guaranteed to win a Senate majority, and for that, I recommend that everyone give write-in candidate Lechasseur a high preference.
