While this will probably have no impact, it baffles me that a state so closely divided where the Dems have done so well so consistently in recent years would change gears like this. It would be like the FL GOP electing Roy Moore as their state chair. Sure it probably won’t matter because nobody cares who state chair is...but why risk it?
There is GOP precedent, Kelli Ward is the chair off the Arizona GOP for instance. State party chair is the position the crazies run for when they lose Senate or gov primaries.
