Washington, D.C., America's capital, is the Blackest city in America, with a 45% Black population. Mississippi, one of America's poorest states, has the second highest Black population at 38%.

Maine, Vermont, West Virginia and New Hampshire are the whitest states in America......

I'm not sure that's correct? I presume you meant the most black state or district.

It's a nice visualisation - a few of the Native American figures surprised me.

Democrats should make a run at Mississippi.....

MSDP has a good bench....before Brett Favre, who has gotten really political lately, takes the state soon

MS has very few persuadable voters, since voters are extremely polarized by race. If existing racial voting patterns persist, black voters would need to comprise at least 45% of the overall electorate in MS in order for the state to become competitive for statewide races.

MS could be in play in the future if major in roads are made with white voters and Democrats keep their margin with black voters.
