Considering his career at the federal level in Alabama is over, Doug Jones pulls a Scott Brown and moves to a more competitive state in North Carolina.

Carpetbaggers don't have a good electoral history, but Jones is a pretty good candidate. Pure Tossup.

Depending on the residency requirements in Georgia, he's probably better off moving there and running for Governor, or if he wants to be really creative, trying to run against Marjorie Taylor Greene.

He can carpet bag to a safe-d state if he wanted to a congress seat not a tossup seat.

Doug Jones would be offered a Judgeship in AL before he would move to AL, NC prefer Edwards D's like Jeff Jackson not Doug Jones

If he wants to carpetbags, he should rather go in a blue state, maybe in CA against Padilla ?

There is no way he carpetbags. If he did, he might not even be the nominee.

Does carpetbagging work much besides the Class 1 Senator from New York, where it's worked 3 times in the 60 years?

Doug Jones ought to be offered a federal judgeship and then run for AL-SEN in the next D wave year when the GOP has the presidency.

He wouldn't win unless the GOP runs another pedophile.

Even then, it didn't always work. For example, after Harold Ford Jr. moved from TN to NY, he considered running for this seat in 2010, but then realized that he wouldn't be able to topple the sitting Senator in the primary due to the conservative stances he took while serving in (and running for) public office in his native state.

Doug Jones is too thoroughly connected to Alabama to be a successful carpetbagger. His most likely Federal future is as a judge on either the Northern Alabama district bench or the Eleventh Circuit, but only if he can be nominated soon as he's already fairly old and would only hold his seat for a decade or two.

What a bizarre question. Scott Brown had long owned property in New Hampshire. Alabama doesn’t even border North Carolina, and Birmingham where Jones lives isn’t much farther from Chicago than it is from Charlotte.

Presumably AL would have trended Dem a bit since then.

There is no evidence of this.
