Its weird to think that a President who was first elected in 1884, had a child alive in the 1990s, within my own lifetime.

Obligatory mention that President Tyler - who took office in 1841 - has a grandchild who's still alive today.

Obligatory mention that President Tyler - who took office in 1841 - has a grandchild who's still alive today.

Thats what these are all inspired by no? I thought this series of types of examinations threads were created in part because of that and a desire to explore similar such things.

He's actually older than the oldest living child of a president by 16 years.

Probably Alice Roosevelt (1980) and Naomi Biden (1972).

Naomi dying before Alice must be of even more interest.

To round out the 70s/80s/1990 list, there was also Dick Cleveland in 1974 at 76, Anna Roosevelt (of FDR/Eleanor) in 1975 at 69, Marion Cleveland in 1977 at 81, Ethel Roosevelt in 1977 at 86 & Archie Roosevelt in 1979 at 85 (both of Teddy/Edith), Esther Cleveland in 1980 at 86, John Roosevelt (of FDR/Eleanor) in 1981 at 65, Charlie Taft in 1983 at 85 & Helene Taft in 1987 at 95, FDR Jr. in 1988 on his 74th birthday & his brother Elliott Roosevelt in 1990 at 80.

And Alice Roosevelt, Teddy Roosevelt's eldest child-and his only child by his first wife, her namesake mother-outlived all of her younger half-siblings.
