Who did you vote for in the last four elections?

If you can't or couldn't vote because you are or were under 18 years of age, a citizen of an unincorporated U.S. territory, a foreigner, or previously convicted, please choose those candidates you were rooting for.

PS: I hope from the bottom of my heart I haven't forgotten any of the 81 possible variations... 😟

I see 1 of the 4 votes so far was McCain - Obama - Clinton - Trump. Wonder what the rationale for that was... (IIRC this person was a no-avatar member)

Obama 2X [wasn't old enough for '08] -> Clinton -> Hawkins [aka 3rd party]

No regrets for any votes except 2016. Wasn't old enough for 2008 unfortunately.

I see 1 of the 4 votes so far was McCain - Obama - Clinton - Trump. Wonder what the rationale for that was... (IIRC this person was a no-avatar member)

Here! 👋🏻

In 2008, I was a genuine PUMA Democrat. I'm absolutely convinced that Hillary had been deprived of her deserved nomination; and let's be honest: In hindsight, we all know that that bad decision of nominating Obama, for the long haul, entailed serious consequences we've all been suffering so far.

In 2012, however, I approved of Obama's performance and I appreciated his political achievements. I moreover would have wanted to thwart the impetus of the Tea Party movement.

2016 is self-explanatory.

In 2020, I wouldn't have voted for Biden, simply because I harbor deep resentment against him and I still think he didn't deserve his party's nomination. Warren, Buttigieg or even Yang ought to be President right now.
Furthermore, I criticize him for his lack of distancing from the Antifa and the BLM movement; the Antifa is simply a left-wing extremist domestic terrorist organization; as to BLM, I did support that movement during its initial period as the USA does have serious problems concerning police violence and structural racism, which government and society have to acknowledge to themselves and take measures against. But in the wake of the ethnic riots, major parts of BLM turned out to be a mere combat effective unit of the Antifa, which attacked and even tried to murder police forces and political opponents. Just like I insist that a Republican presidential candidate distance themselves from QAnus and the "Proud Boys", I insist that a Democratic presidential candidate distance themselves from left-wing goons such as the Antifa or parts of the BLM movement as well.
That doesn't mean I'm a Trump supporter whatsoever, but one of the very few things he did right was to finally broach and address the huge problem of left-wing extremism that dwelt below radar level for way too long. Plus, he has never been my president and never will, thus it would have not been my problem to keep on dealing with his perpetuated presidency anyway. 😋

PS: Thank you, shua and TimTurner, by the way, for honoring my strenuous Sisyphean task by giving me a recommendation! 👍🏻

I was N/A - N/A - N/A - Hawkins, although I answered "Obama - Obama - Third Party - Third Party" in the poll on account of who I supported at the time for each election despite not being able to have voted for the first three.

I was N/A - N/A - N/A - Hawkins, although I answered "Obama - Obama - Third Party - Third Party" in the poll on account of who I supported at the time for each election despite not being able to have voted for the first three.

That's exactly how I intended the poll to work, according to my opening post:

If you can't or couldn't vote because you are or were under 18 years of age, a citizen of an unincorporated U.S. territory, a foreigner, or previously convicted, please choose those candidates you were rooting for.

For the sake of accuracy, I have now specified that in the poll question also.

Obama-Obama-Trump(because if Trump were not elected then GOP would have gotten 60 Senate seats in 2018, and Dems would never win the Senate again, and America would have gone to sh*t)-Biden

Obama - Third Party - Clinton - Biden

Too young in 2008.

Voted Gary Johnson in 2012, but I wanted Obama to win and was happy he did. (I was a dumb college kid.)

In theory I am McCain-Romney-Trump-Trump.  But I only voted McCain in 2008 on my DW's request.  She had a vitriolic hatred of Obama in 2008 and had asked me to vote McCain even though I detested McCain and wanted to vote Libertarian just like in 2004.  In the end I voted for McCain although I felt ill while I did it.   Over the years my vitriolic hatred of Obama went on to exceed my DW after 2008.  I voted Third Party-Romney-Trump-Trump to reflect what I intended to vote for.

With hindsight, a Romney win would have potentially staved off the desperation that the GOP base felt during the Trump era, and would've saved us all a lot of misery and pain. But to be honest, the Republican Party just doesn't have much to offer me at this point. At least with Democrats in office, some things get passed that I approve of (criminal justice reform, marijuana legalization, more nuanced immigration policy, lower defense spending, etc). Republicans do not have a single thing in their policy arsenal that appeals to me aside from the very basic "Pro-2nd Amendment" stuff, which ends up being a non-factor anyway because Democrats have proven themselves unable to enact any meaningful gun legislation on the federal level.
